Sound healing with the Gong

Hi there - new to the group but not to BM. I wanted to ask how to get involved with the camp (heebeegeebee healers.) I've been training with a group that does sound healing with gongs, and there is a really strong interest in going to BM and doing that. We've done some all night gong baths at the Integratron and in Laguna Beach, CA and would love to be a part of a camp that was geared around healing.

I'd love to talk to someone about camping with Heebeegeebee if that's possible. What the ground rules are etc.

This will be my first burn and I will be camping with AutoSub and was pointed your direction when I mentioned that I would love to bring my massage skills to the playa.

I'm a LMT and level 1 Reiki. I integrate polarity and mind/body concepts into my work.

Vancouver BC HBGB seeks ride to Playa!

yay! its almost here!
I am going to the burn for my second time, camping with the HeeBeeGeeBee healers.
I am looking for a ride from Vancouver, BC, to the playa, and can leave after work Friday August 22, or at the crack of dawn Saturday August 23 - my hope is to arrive on the playa as early as possible on Sunday to join in my camp's kickoff (I have a theme camp early arrival.)
I hope to stay for take-down on Tuesday September 2, and therefore would be so grateful for a ride leaving the playa Tuesday early evening or possibly Wednesday morning, Sept. 3, and returning to Vancouver. Would love to camp somewhere on the way home instead of go straight through.

As I am fed and watered I don't need to shop for food or water, but of course I know most other burners do (except maybe others like me? that'd be cool!). I will have my own personal tent and camping gear, clothing and a bike, but no heavy infrastructure - all provided!
I would love to travel with some friendly people and share stories and cookies and advice on the road, and of course gas costs. I do have a drivers license but no car so haven't driven much in recent years, but could do some practice driving and maybe could discuss sharing some wheel time ( no stick I'm afraid)

Like the subject line says, I'm looking for someone to trade services with for massage. I'm a licensed acupuncturist/herbalist, and certified massage therapist so I can treat almost anything. I'm very good at what I do. I've literally helped hundreds of people back to health.

What I'm looking for in return is someone who can give me a really firm massage, maybe deep swedish or deep tissue. My back needs some serious help, so I prefer someone certified, but if you're actually skilled at bodywork and have experience then that works too.

...Research on the link between relationships and physical health has established that people with rich personal networks — who are married, have close family and friends, are active in social and religious groups — recover more quickly from disease and live longer. But now the emerging field of social neuroscience, the study of how people’s brains entrain as they interact, adds a missing piece to that data.

The most significant finding was the discovery of “mirror neurons,” a widely dispersed class of brain cells that operate like neural WiFi. Mirror neurons track the emotional flow, movement and even intentions of the person we are with, and replicate this sensed state in our own brain by stirring in our brain the same areas active in the other person.

Mirror neurons offer a neural mechanism that explains emotional contagion, the tendency of one person to catch the feelings of another, particularly if strongly expressed. This brain-to-brain link may also account for feelings of rapport, which research finds depend in part on extremely rapid synchronization of people’s posture, vocal pacing and movements as they interact. I realize we don't have a ton of discussion on this tribe (which is fine, that's the purpose of the main HeeBee list on Yahoo Groups in any case), but I have been and will continue to be exercising some control on what gets posted here to try to keep it fairly HeeBee-related. Healing-oriented stuff usually stays, obvious spam goes, and anything else I try to use my best judgment on a case-by-case basis.

One specific note: if you're advertising something for sale, looking to rent an apartment, etcetera, then please post it as a listing rather than as a new topic/post. That's what listings are for, after all.

DPW FUNDRAISER

Hey there HBGB Healers! Coyote, the man who has been responsible for planning the city for Burning Man has been jumped in SF. A broken jaw, a broken wrist. We are asking for donations of 2.00 to 10.00 to help him. He survey's the 2:00 to 10:00 city, flags it and runs DPW teams from August til BLM clean-up (which we passed because of him).

Basically without Coyote there is barely a DPW. He is our day to day, out in the field with us, picking up moop next to us general in command.

All tickets will be sold via mail order. All orders must have a postmark
date between Tuesday, January 9 and Saturday, January 13 inclusive. All of
these postmark dates will be treated equally.

2 tickets maximum per order. 1 order per person.

2000 tickets will be made available. No more tiers!

The fine print:

Burning Flipside 2007 will occur over Memorial Day weekend, Thursday, May 24
- Monday, May 28. Ticket price has not yet been determined, but it will not
be higher than last year's price of $65.

Based on the growth of demand in recent years, we believe that 2000 tickets
will be enough to meet this year's demand. If ticket demand greatly
outstrips supply, the LLC reserves the right to fill ticket orders for
critical volunteers first, in order to ensure that the safety and

Guest Healer Experience @ HeeBeeGeeBee Healers BRC 2006

Not sure if this is the forum and space for this conversation, and if you happen to know someone in this camp that this message should get to, please feel free to do so.

I signed up to do two shifts at Burningman this year. I ended up completing one shift, and walking away about halfway through the second shift.

Several things about the experience didn't work for me (ie: not wrong/right...just didn't work for me)

1: The healing space was "Rated G" accoding to the front desk volunteers....however, many of the healers were working undraped...not an issue for me personally, but I'm pretty sure it cannot be "G rated" at that point.

2: I had three healers approach me directly asking for work (other healers in the space). When I asked why they didn't get signed up on the lists up front, they told me that they had been told to "ask around" back in the space. CMT's or Healers in many cases need to recieve work in order to maintain thier ability to provide healing...this should have some priority in my opinion.

3: There were "priority clients" (from what the greaters/hearders) told me. However, I saw that at least one client recieved a massage both days that I worked, she didn't have any injury issues when I screened her, and didn't appear to have any for the massage she recieved two days later. I'm not sure if there is a favortism issue, or just someone working the system, or an injury/reason that I happened to be unaware of...regardless, the system seemed to be lacking some definition and smoothness in operation. ( That system being clients "booking". )

4: The second shift that I worked occured as work for me. From the front desk personel to the herders in the healing space, and even to some extent the clients that I worked on (2) I had the feeling that there were expectations without agreement. My perception (and I get that's totally my deal on most levels) was that there was no appreciation of a gift from Heebeegeebee camp or the participants that I gifted with massage.

These are the issues that I've been able to identify after thinking about my experience. I believe that your camp provides some of the most amazing gifts to the playa and that you as a group are filled with positive intentions. I am in no way angry or upset with the Heebeegeebee camp or the folks that camped with or volunteered with them. I hope that any conversation that might be sparked by this post will only serve to refine or define ways to continue having powerfull and compassionate healing available on the playa.

I found out today that my very good friend's best friend's wife had seizures yesterday-at thier wedding.
Very sad. She had two before being medevac'd out from the remote northern CA coast where they were having thier wedding and reception.
Please send her prayers for perfect health, light, love , healing and a perfect recovery-having it be nothing serious.

... i visited your camp at BM this year and because my english accent stands out a mile was advised you had a guy staying with you who came from salisbury in england......I tried to catch up with him but never managed it.......

I am back in england now.....for the time being and christmas anyway..... but am trying to find some burner spirit here.......

have this vision of getting all the inspired healers and metacine people out on the streets to perform their work on bystanders in an effort to help creatively dissolve the lines between marcher and audience and open up the whole space to receive healing

..maybe u wanna come out to the march friday and check it out. maybe you wanna give a massage.. maybe you know someone that does.. maybe you're backpacking thru turkey.....

i think that even if one person was doing it - then ..wow

A bright flame has dimmed

It is with a heavy heart that I write this note.

A dear friend, Nasu Dyami, has passed from this world. Earlier today Nasu drowned while learning to surf off of the California Coast. Nasu lived every day with vivaciousness that was unparalleled. I am sure that he would like for all of us to honor the life, the love and the soul that burned so brightly inside of him by celebrating his time in this place, our lives.

I place a call out to all who honor the flame within themselves, the
same flame that will always burn in Nasu's spirit, to gather next
Friday night. On February 18th join with the friends that mean so much to you and share, together, what it means to be vibrant. Burn a flame for our friend Nasu and let heaven know that it now holds our brightest flame in its arms.

In Steamboat Springs, CO a Fire Show will be held to honor Nasu.

Massage Table Help!

Though i wasn't able to make the last heebee gathering, i hope eveyone is doing well.
I'm hoping to borrow a massage table for Friday the 19th. I'll be contributing massage, reflexology, and reiki at One Taste's Massage Soiree, and i gotta bring a table. Can anyone local in S.F. help out? I've no car, but I'm sure i can find one to use to pick it up and return it. Massage cremes

I did not camp with the healers, but I was next door in Hushville and I did get a great opportunity to go to your tent and learn some tai foot massage from some friends we met on their way to your camp. And I LOVED your camp, and the incredible place you provided for everyone, Thank you so much for that!!

My question is on massage creme. I have looked through my local discount stores (walgreens, walmart, CVS) but all I find is hand lotion. CAn someone please point me in the right direction on chain stores that may carry massage lotion similar to what HBGBH provided and where to look or an online place I can order some.

Ayurveda at the burn

I'm hoping there are a few practicioners out there.

I'll be making my virgin voyage to Burning Man this year and would love to hear your thoughts on keeping a proper balance in a mental and physical space of extremes.

i'll be there for 8 days plus 2 driving and i'll sleep mostly in a tent.

my dominant dosha is pitta and minor vata with a leeetle kapha.

good foods?
good sleep cycles?
oils or herbs?

I would also love any thoughts on how to nutritionally prepare for the week before i leave.

And.. if you are feeling really ambitious.. i'd love to pass on some ideas for the other doshas.

Wheehaa!

We're actually going to make it down to the Burn for sure this year! We got the car fixed, and it wasn't as bad as we thought. The tapping noise in the engine we started hearing before last year's trip turned out to be a belt in the engine, and the fix was totally cheap (albeit very necessary). Up to this point we couldn't afford to get it diagnosed, and we were quite honestly very worried about what they were going to find (like a bad rod or something really expensive). I'm so looking forward to meeting y'all in person this year!

The HeeBees will be part of the Infinite Oasis this year, and are requesting placement on the Esplanade. Should you know of any "compatible" camps that might like to join the village, please have them contact Michael Moss.

Additionally, registration for camping with the HeeBees is now open. If you're interested in camping with us this year, head on over to the main web site to fill out an application: http://www.heebeegeebeehealers.org

Please note that you don't necessarily have to be a healer yourself to camp with the HeeBees, and you don't have to camp with us to come heal with us. If you're interested in being a guest healer, please let Cookie or Michael know (or drop me a line and I'll forward it on to the right place).
